Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Roving Patrol in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a cutting-edge tech location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents. You will assist with access control, respond to alarms and/or calls for service, and document observations with clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a technology location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through the chain of command as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, labs, parking areas, and perimeter lines to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or security-related concerns.
  • Control access points by monitoring entry and exit, verifying credentials as required, and directing visitors to appropriate check-in processes.
  • Monitor alarms, CCTV, access control systems, and other technology tools, and report irregularities according to site procedures.
  • Complete shift logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in a clear and timely manner.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Allied Universal leadership and on-site personnel regarding site conditions, work orders, and incident response needs.
  • Assist with screening of deliveries and contractor access, following site-specific policies for restricted areas and/or sensitive equipment zones.
  • Support evacuation and shelter-in-place procedures during emergencies, including directing occupants and maintaining order at designated assembly areas.
  • Maintain a professional presence, adhere to uniform standards, and provide clear directions and assistance to employees, vendors, and guests.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
