Job Description




As a Security Officer - Data Center Foot Patrol in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and/or calls for assistance, document observations, and communicate clearly with site teams and visitors. Bring a service-first mindset, acting with integrity while supporting an agile, reliable, innovative team.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology and telecommunications location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and assist with access control activities such as verifying authorization, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and documenting entries and exits per site policy.
  • Perform routine observation of alarms, doors, and other site equipment, and report irregularities for follow-up.
  • Complete detailed shift documentation including patrol logs, incident reports, and visitor activity notes using required systems and/or forms.
  • Provide initial response to medical and/or facility-related calls within training and site guidelines, and coordinate with responding personnel until relieved.
  • Support site operations by communicating clearly with Allied Universal leadership and client representatives, following post orders and documenting actions taken.
  • Maintain a professional presence while interacting with diverse populations, providing directions, answering questions, and addressing concerns in accordance with site policies.
  • Operate in varied working environments including indoor office areas, lobbies, loading and delivery areas, and outdoor patrol routes, with conditions that may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
