What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support when needed.
  • Control access at designated entrances and other key points by monitoring traffic flow, observing for unauthorized entry, and directing individuals to appropriate check-in and/or service areas.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other building systems as assigned, and report irregularities to site leadership and/or public emergency services as directed.
  • Complete security-related reports and logs, including incident documentation, patrol activity, and shift handoff information, in accordance with site procedures.
  • Provide wayfinding and general assistance, including escorting staff and/or visitors when requested and permitted by site policy.
  • Communicate clearly with clinical teams, facilities personnel, and Allied Universal supervision to coordinate response, share observations, and follow post orders.
  • Support enforcement of site rules, visitor guidelines, and restricted-area controls while maintaining a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Participate in drills and on-the-job training for healthcare-specific situations such as missing person alerts, aggressive behavior, and emergency department-related response needs, as directed by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • CPR Certification is preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
