Job Description




As a Airport Security Officer - Terminal Patrol in Kailua-Kona, HI, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of all passengers, staff, and airport facilities. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, engaging with the public, and delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication. Position Type: Full Time - Morning

Pay Rate: $22.50 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $1.96. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.

Requirements

    Valid Driver's License for more than a year
  • 21+ years of age
  • Have ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical exam
  • Ability to obtain AOA badge (Federal Background Check in ordinance with DOT requirements)

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government-operated transportation facility.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, administrative areas, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access to restricted areas by checking identification, credentials, and/or visitor authorizations in accordance with site procedures.
  • Monitor designated areas and security-related systems such as cameras, alarms, radios, and/or access control devices, and report irregularities per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, suspicious items, and/or hazard reports, and notify appropriate site contacts.
  • Provide presence and assistance for crowd management, queue lines, and/or special events, helping to maintain orderly movement within public areas.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs of daily activities, incidents, and/or inspections, and communicate relevant information during shift turnovers.
  • Coordinate with airport operations staff and local and/or federal authorities as directed, supporting incident response and operational needs.
  • Enforce property rules and regulations in a courteous manner, providing directions and assistance to the public while documenting noncompliance per procedure.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for unarmed roles; 22+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
