Job Description




As a Security Guard - High-Rise Patrol in Chantilly, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support tenants and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication while documenting activity and reporting concerns. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, tenants, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of commercial real estate buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and observe foot and vehicle traffic for unusual conditions, then take appropriate action based on post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site management and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Complete detailed activity reports and incident documentation, including notes from patrols, observed conditions, and actions taken.
  • Assist with property rules enforcement in a professional manner, including addressing loitering, unauthorized access, and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Support fire and life emergency procedures as directed by site instructions, including reporting hazards and guiding people to designated areas when directed.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, alarms, and/or access control systems when assigned, and report malfunctions or irregularities.
  • Perform opening and/or closing checks as assigned, including checking doors, gates, and other access points for proper status.
  • Communicate clearly with Allied Universal supervision, site management, and/or local authorities to coordinate incident response and routine operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
