Job Description




As a Security Officer - Warehouse Gatehouse in Jeffersonville, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, supporting ACCESS_CONTROL at key entry points and throughout the property. You will greet drivers and staff, verify credentials, manage visitor and trailer flow, conduct routine patrols, and document security-related activity. Your visible presence and clear communication help to deter incidents while delivering people-first service. Bring an agile, reliable mindset, act with integrity, and collaborate with the team to keep operations moving.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining visitor, vendor, and contractor logs.
  • Support vehicle and driver processing at gates by checking appointments and documentation, directing inbound and outbound traffic, and communicating access decisions per site policy.
  • Perform screening tasks as required by site procedures, including package checks and verifying property removal documentation.
  • Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems, and report irregular activity per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting actions taken, and assisting first responders as directed.
  • Complete detailed reports on shift activity, access events, incidents, and policy exceptions using written logs and/or electronic systems.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, docks, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity. Working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to employees, drivers, and visitors while reinforcing site rules and traffic flow requirements.
  • Participate in briefings, follow post orders, and coordinate with site management and Allied Universal leadership on security-related concerns and/or operational needs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
