Job Description




As a Security Officer - Part-Time Factory Patrol in Hagerstown, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and watch for unusual activity, hazards, and access concerns. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site personnel, and respond to calls for assistance with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to client personnel and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including equipment alarms, access issues, and workplace disturbances.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout production areas, warehouse spaces, loading docks, parking areas, and along the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Control access points by checking identification, authorizing entry for employees, contractors, and deliveries, and directing visitors to the appropriate check-in process.
  • Monitor cameras and alarm panels, observe for unusual activity, and report concerns according to post orders and client procedures.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic systems, including shift activity logs and incident reports.
  • Communicate with client representatives and Allied Universal supervision regarding operational needs, hazards, and security-related concerns found during patrol.
  • Support emergency and non-emergency response, including calling for medical assistance, coordinating with local responders, and helping with site evacuations or shelter-in-place activities as directed.
  • Perform vehicle and trailer checks where assigned, including observing seals, noting damage, and reporting discrepancies to the designated contact.
  • Maintain a professional presence, provide directions and assistance, and help to promote a positive environment for staff and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
