As a Security Officer - Armed Rover Patrol in Lakewood, CO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a food and beverage location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage production and/or distribution location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including production floors, loading docks, parking lots, and perimeter fencing, as permitted by site policy.
- Control access for employees, contractors, and visitors by verifying identification, confirming authorization, and directing individuals to appropriate check-in locations.
- Monitor and report unusual activity near shipping and receiving areas, raw material storage, finished goods staging, and other restricted areas to help to deter theft and/or unauthorized access.
- Operate and monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, alarm panels, access control, and two-way radios, and report equipment issues per site procedure.
- Perform armed post duties in accordance with all licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies, including maintaining proper handling and storage of assigned equipment.
- Complete detailed written reports of daily activity, incidents, and observations, including documenting times, locations, and actions taken.
- Conduct initial response to alarms, door forced alerts, and other notifications by assessing the situation, communicating updates, and following escalation procedures.
- Support emergency response activities such as evacuations, severe weather procedures, and medical incidents by guiding personnel and coordinating with on-site management.
- Assist with traffic control and/or truck movement coordination during peak inbound and outbound periods, as directed by site policy.
- Communicate professionally with client representatives, employees, drivers, and visitors to resolve issues, provide directions, and maintain a positive environment.
Minimum Requirements: - Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement/military/security-related experience OR a college degree.
- Be at least 21+ years of age.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- An armed guard card/license is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
