Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher education location, where you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, faculty, staff, and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication. You will document observations, report concerns, and respond to calls for assistance with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, alarms, and access control issues.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, academic spaces, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by post and shift.
  • Monitor and report unauthorized access, suspicious activity, and policy violations, and help to deter prohibited behavior through high-visibility patrol presence.
  • Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, directing visitors, and verifying permissions in accordance with site-specific procedures.
  • Complete routine security-related reports and activity logs, including incident documentation, patrol findings, and shift handoff notes.
  • Operate security-related systems such as radios, CCTV, alarms, and electronic access control, and report system issues to the appropriate contacts.
  • Provide assistance with event coverage such as crowd direction, line management, and coordinating with site personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Support emergency procedures by assisting with building evacuations, sheltering actions, and securing affected areas until additional resources arrive.
  • Maintain professional communication with site staff and Allied Universal leadership, including timely notifications of incidents, hazards, and operational concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security experience.
  • Have an F85 or F89 Certificate of Fitness for New York only.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
