Job Description




As a Security Officer - Tech Lobby in Crane, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Front Desk Security Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech, media, and telecom location, you will be the welcoming first point of contact, supporting access control, visitor check-in, badge verification, and security-related incident documentation. You will monitor lobby activity, communicate clearly with staff and guests, and respond to concerns with a calm, customer-first approach, bringing agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to every interaction.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and vendors at the front desk while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Greet and screen visitors, issue visitor credentials, and maintain visitor, delivery, and vendor logs in accordance with location policies.
  • Control access through the lobby and reception area by verifying identification, confirming appointments, and directing guests to the appropriate contact.
  • Answer phones and monitor entry requests, intercoms, and other front desk communications to support a professional reception experience.
  • Monitor lobby activity and front desk camera views, when assigned, and report unusual activity per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation and timely notification to site contacts and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Document security-related incidents, service calls, and shift activity in written and/or electronic reports.
  • Support badge and key control processes at the front desk, including temporary badge issuance and returns, following location requirements.
  • Coordinate with on-site teams during technology and telecom-related service visits, supporting check-in, access routing, and documentation as directed.
  • Assist with emergency procedures for the location, including alarms, evacuations, and accountability processes as directed by post orders.
  • Maintain a neat front desk area and uphold confidentiality of sensitive information encountered during daily duties.
  • Participate in required training and follow Allied Universal standards, client instructions, and post orders for the assigned location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
