The Senior Internal Auditor/Data Analytics position is responsible for conducting audit assignments of high complexity that use data and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with policies, procedures and business objectives. Also responsible for assisting Internal Audit staff with integrating data analytics of moderate complexity into the department's audit programs to increase efficiency and effectiveness. This includes recommending data analytics policies and procedures and training audit staff on the use of analytical tools.

In this hybrid role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from the office. You should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783 or Boston, MA 02110.

You will report to a Director, Internal Audit Professional Practices and Quality.

Position Compensation Range:

$80,000.00 - $131,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Conducts accurate and timely business analysis and reporting to support and drive business decisions using statistical modeling and other business analysis tools.
  • Supports the identification and calculation of key performance metrics and key risk indicators within Internal Audit.Collaborates with key stakeholders to identify and link key risk indicators at AmFam to the development of the audit plan.
  • Collaborates closely with Audit Teams to understand objective and scope of each audit engagement. Identifies key areas and potential control tests where data and analytics can add value.
  • Leads initiatives to enhance digital and analytical capabilities of audit team members. Collaborates with team members to integrate analytics into audit practices and foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Collaborates with Internal Audit Leadership in the development and delivery of key performance metrics focused on operational excellence within Internal Audit.
  • Builds and maintains analytics used to project business results or proactively identify fraudulent scenarios. Refines and enhances the models based on review of results and feedback received from business partners.
  • Analyzes and addresses data quality issues, tests and analyzes impact of system changes to data/reporting infrastructure.
  • Develops, tests, and deploys automated continuous auditing and monitoring solutions enabling the enterprise to identify and mitigate risks proactively.
  • May be requested to complete other assignments or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of forecasting techniques or statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated strong experience utilizing data tools to build complex formulas and create reports.
  • Understanding of software tools to query and report data.
  • Knowledge of a variety of standard reporting software packages and best practices for report deployment processes.
  • Demonstrated experience developing data sets.
  • Python and Power Bi experience are preferred.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 10%.
