Description

Smith & Wesson is seeking a highly motivated and creative Brand Marketing Intern to join our team for Summer 2026! This internship opportunity will provide hands-on experience and exposure to various marketing functions, including social media, content marketing, email marketing, advertising and analytics.



Internship Dates: May 18th-August 14th



Location, Schedule, & Compensation:



  • In-office/non-remote
  • Maryville, TN
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday
  • Paid


Education and Experience:


Currently enrolled in an associate or bachelor's degree program in a related field.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Assist Brand Marketing Director and Project Manager with advertising placement, execution in collaboration with creative, monitoring metrics to make recommendations, building rapport with advertising vendors and use reporting to create a comprehensive dashboard that can be used by Brand Marketing to determine best use of ad dollars.
  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels, including social media, email, and other digital platforms.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify target audiences, market trends, and competitors.
  • Create engaging content for social media channels and blogs posts that align with the company's brand and messaging.
  • Assist in the management and growth of social media accounts by creating and scheduling posts and monitoring engagement.
  • Assist in creating email marketing campaigns and managing email lists.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm new ideas and strategies for promoting our brand and products.
  • Help analyze marketing data and metrics to inform decisions and measure the success of campaigns.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Cloud
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.


Physical Demands:



  • Continuous: sitting
  • Occasional: walking, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, fine and gross upper body motor movement.
  • Extended time in a sitting position, prolonged use of a computer, and possible eye strain.
  • Occasional lift: 0 to 30 pounds

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:


Within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.


The following Personal Protective Equipment is required: Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection are required when on the manufacturing floor. The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
