Conxall, a manufacturer of cable connectors, is seeking a Cable Cutter who will also be cross-trained in Molding and Assembly. This role offers variety and flexibility, with responsibilities shifting based on departmental workload. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn multiple aspects of production.

Location: Villa Park, IL

First Shift: M-F 7a-3:30p

Pay: $17/Hour



Cable Cutting


  • Set up cut coil machines to ensure accurate cut lengths.



  • Verify that the correct cable has been issued for each job.



  • Complete First Piece Inspection documentation and confirm compliance with specifications.



  • Properly complete Cable Return paperwork.



  • Input job setups into the Artos Cut Coil computer system.



  • Collaborate with the Material Control department to ensure accurate data transfer and assist in troubleshooting issues.



  • Cut cable for sample and prototype orders.



  • Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure cut coil machines operate efficiently.



  • Notify Quality or Industrial Engineering teams of any errors in Specification Sheets.



  • Recommend process improvements or corrections to Industrial Engineering and the Production Manager.



  • Complete requisition forms, Scrap/Rework documentation, and enter NAV transactions for additional cable when needed.




Molding (as needed)


  • Assemble mold components according to specifications.



  • Purge molding machines of previous material before setup.



  • Adjust machine settings (pressure, temperature, timing) to produce compliant parts.



  • Document successful setups for future reference.



  • Monitor resin and colorant levels; submit requisitions when needed.



  • Ensure molds are prepared prior to production runs in coordination with Group Leaders.



  • Support sample runs for new resins and products.



  • Work with Tool Room and Industrial Engineering to repair or order tooling.



  • Report specification discrepancies to Quality or Industrial Engineering.



  • Coordinate with Group Leaders to confirm proper material allocation.




Assembly (as needed)


  • Assemble small electronic components and cable assemblies using hand tools and presses.



  • Maintain pace with production line expectations.



  • Perform repetitive tasks while seated for extended periods.



  • Use crimpers to connect cables to connectors.



  • Test finished products to verify wiring accuracy.





  • High school diploma or equivalent.



  • Ability to read and write in English.



  • Basic computer proficiency.



  • Ability to follow instructions from team leaders and supervisors.



  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.



  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.



  • Good vision and manual dexterity required.



  • Ability to remain seated for more than 50% of the workday.



  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.



  • Strong gripping ability with both hands (fixtures may be used for support).
