A leading medical device organization is seeking a highly experienced Senior R&D Engineer to independently lead complex research, development, and test method development initiatives. This role is ideal for an engineer recognized as a technical expert who thrives in minimal-oversight environments and drives innovation in regulated product development.

This position plays a critical role in advancing new technologies, test methods, and medical device development, while ensuring compliance with quality systems and supporting intellectual property growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex and novel engineering and test method development projects for medical devices and sub-assemblies
• Develop new or improved testing techniques, procedures, and protocols, including conditioned testing, sterilization, and aging
• Execute engineering work across technology development, product design, materials testing, process studies, and research investigations
• Assess feasibility and effectiveness of alternative engineering processes, products, and equipment
• Coordinate, document, and manage project goals, timelines, and deliverables
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and guidance to engineers and technicians
• Lead cross-functional engineering teams to successful project completion
• Develop, review, and coach others on engineering documentation and test methods
• Ensure compliance with medical device quality systems and internal standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8-13 years of experience, Master's with 6-11 years, or PhD with 4-8 years
• Strong expertise in test method development processes and methodologies
• Experience with medical device quality systems, sterilization, and aging protocols
• Proven ability to lead projects independently and mentor technical teams
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
