Job Description

Job Summary/Purpose:

Under general supervision, responsible for the control room management of the natural gas system to maintain the natural gas system within normal conditions, manage nominations for transportation customers, and balance supply contracts with on-system storage.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Controls, monitors and maintains various gas control systems within normal conditions based on Control Room Management and the Operations & Maintenance Manual.
  • Responds accordingly to various alarms and warnings based on Control Room Management and the Operations & Maintenance Manual.
  • Communicates problems to appropriate personnel, and dispatches field personnel according to Control Room Management and the Operations & Maintenance Manual.
  • Manage Nominations and Imbalances for Customer Choice and Transport Customers on a daily basis.
  • Balance daily supply contracts with on-system storage by controlling gate stations and storage facilities flow rates.
  • Follow Fatigue Mitigation rules per company procedure to allow for coverage of midnight shifts, required overtime, and 50 percent of companies holidays.
  • Perform documentation of changes to the natural gas system to comply with Change Management, Turn-Over, and Daily Log reporting in accordance with the Operations & Maintenance Manual.
  • Perform other code required documentation for Control Room Management including False Alarm Reporting, Ambiguous Descriptions, Deviation Log, and other applicable Operations and Maintenance Manual Documentation.
  • Provides regular and special reports as required by the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of vocational courses or training in a related technical field, preferred.
  • 2-4 year's experience in Gas Industry, preferred.

Skill Requirement(s):

  • Analytical and organizational skills.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of various personal computer business software applications presently used by the Company. Ability to learn new systems or software packages as necessary.
  • Understands basic mechanical principles and pipeline systems.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to obtain operator qualification in Gas Control, Control Room Management, and Fatigue Mitigation.

Other Requirement(s):

  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective interactions and communications with co-workers, customers and management.
  • Must live within 45 minutes of company's control room.
  • Must maintain a safe environment for co-workers, customers and the public through adherence to established safety standards and timely reporting of potential hazards.
  • Must adhere to Company policies and procedures related to the code of business ethics, compliance, responsible use of Company assets, and all applicable state and federal laws.

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,800 to $80,925 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
