Senior Engineer, Materials Quality Engineering

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic SeniorEngineer in ourMaterialsQualityEngineering team(Supplier Quality)forourregional supplier baseandUSmanufacturing operations.In this role,the candidate'sprimary responsibility will be to assess and manage supplier risk,qualityperformance,and improvement to ensure the continuity ofbothEntegrisandourcustomer's supply chain.This position will support theMaterials Solutions Division and the plants inAurora, IL and Hillsboro, OR.The raw material portfolio to be managedwill bein the area ofinorganic materialsand polymeric nanoparticlesto support ourIC Polishingconsumables.

Thecandidatemust beable towork with autonomy and independent judgement to achievebothMaterialsQualityEngineeringand Entegris corporate goalspluslead continuous improvementandsupplierchangeprojectswith our critical/strategic suppliers.The candidatewill also work closely withCommodity Managers,Operations, R&DandCustomerQuality forinternal and customer issue resolution.Robust interpersonalskills to developstrong workingrelationships withboth internal customers and ourcritical/strategic suppliersisrequiredtoenable effective supplier management and improvement of supplier performance.This position will work closely with the global Materials Quality Engineering team to support the business.

In this role you will:

• Support new product development and the existing supplier base to lead onsite assessment and qualification of materials suppliers, identifying gaps/opportunities, driving gap closure and continuous improvement actions/projects.

• Work with a Global team including our plants in Asia to support local and global issues when required.

• Understand the supplier's processes and how the raw material has an impact on Entegris products and customers' application.

• Be a subject matter and technical expert in raw material management and support Entegris corporate and division's goals.

• Drive technical improvements and own technical reviews when required working closely with R&D

• Drive advanced quality planning and process of record documentation with critical/strategic suppliers.

• Own supplier process control system reviews (SPC trend reviews, metrology/SPC systems reviews, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.).

• Initiate, coordinate, drive and own supplier change notification through the Entegris internal change control system and supplier communication.

• Proactively assess supplier risk and plan for appropriate risk mitigation

• Train suppliers on key supplier expectations and requirements such as Change Control.

• Anticipate potential supplier quality management problems and opportunities; assess impacts and risks, propose potential solutions.

• Drive supplier corrective actions and preventative actions to meet Entegris issue resolution expectations (SCAR, 8D, 5-why, Fishbone, etc.).

• Contribute to the development and improvement of the Entegris Supplier Quality Management System by identifying and proposing supplier quality management process and technical improvements to meet our industry and customer requirements.

What we seek:

• Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science

• MS and/or PhD preferred with a focus in inorganic or polymeric nanomaterials

• Six-Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred. Knowledge of statistical software like Minitab, JMP, or SAS required.

• The candidate should demonstrate a deep technical understanding of chemical manufacturing with experience in inorganic chemistry particularly in the areas of colloidal silica, aluminum oxide, cerium oxide, and polymeric nanomaterials.

• Direct experience with supplier quality management preferred

• ASQ Certification or equivalent preferred but not required.

• Minimum 5-7 years' experience in chemical manufacturing, automotive, semiconductor industry or related high-tech industrypreferred

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, total travel up to 10%

• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and have strong organizational skills.

• Strong project management and leadership skills

• Ability to collaborate with cross functional departments.

• Compensation: $100,000 - $125,000 per year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
