In collaboration with other management personnel in the laboratory matrix structure, provide data and project support for MultiCare Laboratories to aid in quality management, process development, laboratory strategy, performance metrics, safety, proficiency testing, document control, best practice teams, student programs, and employee training/competencies. Work with teams to design and implement quality tools, including databases and IT solutions. Provide leadership, demonstrate effective communication, and apply problem-solving skills to clinical and laboratory settings.

FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: Mon-Fri

Position Summary

The Manager, Core Laboratory has responsibilities for directing and managing the technical functions, middle-ware, processes, procedures, and policies related to the laboratory practices of the Core Laboratory at all hospitals and clinics in the MultiCare Health System. This is a top laboratory leadership position responsible for effectively directing the processes at multiple Core Laboratories that include functions in Chemistry, Hematology, Flow Cytometry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Immunology. The position involves maintaining and coordinating processes, procedures, policies, and quality assurance, related to communication and collaboration with physicians and other clinicians regarding clinical performance and utility of testing. This position is responsible for effectively directing multiple technical areas and ensuring the continued accreditation by all regulating entities. Hospital-based leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure.

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology or chemical, physical or biological science
  • MS, MBA or graduate degree preferred
  • MT(ASCP) certification or equivalent
  • Three years previous supervisory or management experience
  • Three years' experience as a laboratory Generalist
  • Laboratory computer experience (network-based LIS and HIS systems, PC based software)
  • Ability to travel efficiently to geographically separate locations

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $115,128.00 - $165,672.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
