About the Job

Working Title: genAI ChatBot Developer for Motivational Interviewing
Rate: $15-16/hour

Role Summary: If you are an individual experienced with developing custom generative artificial intelligence (genAI) chatbots/avatars for learners, this role is for you! The goal of this project is to embed motivational interviewing (MI) communication strategies in a genAI chatbot/avatar, tailored to specific topics including: oral self-care habits, smoking cessation, and HPV-associated oropharyngeal cancers for students to gain real-time training (role-playing and feedback) to improve their MI proficiency. This will give students an opportunity to interact with various chatbots that are open to and opposed to behavior changes in the topic areas specified. Dr. Shingler and Professors Arnett and Rogers from the School of Dentistry are seeking a passionate and analytical individual to embed a series of cases in a genAI chatbot. This position is sponsored by an internal TEATL award and preference will be given to applicants who have work study funds available. The anticipated workload for this position is ~10 hours per week.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience developing genAI chatbots that house multiple personas and focus on multiple health related topics
Experience building brief motivational interviewing gen AI chatbots for communication strategies for the profession of dental hygiene.
Experience with implementing grading rubrics within gen AI chatbots, specifically for brief motivational interviewing strategies
Exemplary communication and problem solving skills

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $15-16/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
