POSITION SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision and within a team environment, responsible for performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks of moderate to complex scope primarily focused on CNC machinery, machine shop equipment, and building equipment. This includes specialized work on numerical control (N/C) machines, mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic machinery, and supporting production equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and align CNC machine tools, including diagnosing and repairing numerical control malfunctions to ensure optimal production operation.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of machine shop equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, hydraulic press systems, and related tooling.
  • Remove, repair, relocate, and reinstall machine parts, ensuring precision alignment and operation.
  • Diagnose defects and perform repair and preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems related to both machinery and building infrastructure.
  • Construct, install, maintain, repair, and overhaul production test stands, fixtures, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Setup and operate welding equipment (arc and acetylene) as needed to fabricate, repair, or modify machinery components.
  • Fabricate and repair high-pressure tubing, hoses, and fittings for hydraulic and pneumatic applications, adhering to contamination control standards.
  • Assist in planning sequence of operations and recommended methods for complex equipment overhaul and repair, including CNC systems.
  • Perform calibration and operational testing of new or rebuilt CNC and machine shop equipment after installation.
  • Utilize precision measurement and test equipment to ensure machine and equipment specifications are met.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, mechanical, and computerized machine control systems to maintain proper operation.
  • Work with computers and specialized software to assist in maintenance scheduling, diagnostics, and generation of reports.
  • Perform building equipment maintenance tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, air conditioning, and general facility upkeep to support manufacturing operations.
  • Serve as a specialized hazardous material technician: coordinate purchase, inventory, delivery, and disposal of hazardous materials; manage chemical spill clean-ups; maintain compliance and record-keeping related to hazardous waste.
  • Initiate and participate in compliance inspections and provide technical assistance on hazardous materials safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support machine shop and facility maintenance operations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five years related maintenance experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.

  • May require proficiency with pump and valve overhaul procedures, especially aerospace associated equipment.

  • Ability to work from blueprints and sketches.

  • Possess required tools.

  • May require ability to setup and operate carpentry, hand and power tools.

  • May require working knowledge of national, state and local electrical codes.

  • May require knowledge of general hydraulics technology, i.e. pumps, cylinders, accumulators, filters, & piping; tube bending, piping fabrication for hydraulic and pneumatic applications.

  • May require knowledge of chemicals and their characteristics.

  • May require working knowledge of computer and computer software to operate programs, create reports, and spreadsheets.

  • May require a Hazardous Material Handling Certificate Required to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • May require forklift operator certification.

  • Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to work with others and be a participative team player.

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION

  • Pay Range: $31.10/hour - $46.70/hour
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
