INTRODUCTION




    • This position requires a CDL license (class B with endorsements for air brakes and DOT HAZMAT certification). Driving will be 50% of the time, and Other duties as assigned will be 50% of the time.


  • This position is located in Ft. Meade, MD.
  • This is a part-time, non-exempt position; employees are eligible for overtime pay.
  • A collective bargaining agreement governs this site.
  • Starting pay is $31.78 per hour.


    • Working Hours: 5:00am - 2:00pm


  • Pre-employment criminal background checks, government security clearance, and drug screening are required.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • This position requires a CDL license (class B with endorsements for air brakes and DOT HAZMAT certification). Driving will be 50% of the time, and Other duties as assigned will be 50% of the time. Other duties as assigned will include but are not limited to the following.





        • Snowplowing, removal, and shoveling
        • Assist roads and grounds team with road repairs, filling potholes. Grounds work, tree work.
        • Concrete and brick repairs
        • Assist with on-demand work orders as assigned
        • Relocate dumpsters, relocate heavy equipment






    • All other duties as assigned


  • Experience with local delivery vehicles up to 4 tons/10 wheels preferred
  • Must be able to operate a mechanized liftgate
  • Must be able to meet contract security requirements
  • E-Verify is required for all employment positions.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Driving will be 50% of the time, and Other duties as assigned will be 50% of the time. Other duties as assigned will include but are not limited to the following.




      • Snowplowing, removal, and shoveling
      • Assist roads and grounds team with road repairs, filling potholes; grounds work, tree work.
      • Concrete and brick repairs
      • Assist with on-demand work orders as assigned
      • Relocate dumpsters, relocate heavy equipment





    • All other duties as assigned


  • Loads and unloads materials from a truck following all related safety procedures
  • Maintains the record of collections to ensure that the daily service requirements are met
  • Ensures safe conditions exist at all times in and around the vehicle while in operation
  • Follows State, Federal and local Army base rules and regulations regarding vehicle operation and material transport
  • Drives assigned route to all locations and collect, loads, and unloads materials as required.
  • Maintains accurate, complete mileage and collection information per contract requirements
  • Performs daily pre-and post-trip inspections of truck fluids, batteries, tires, and safety equipment
  • Ensures equipment safety precautions are exercised to prevent damage in the performance of collection.
  • Immediately reports any accidents, damage, collision, injury, etc., through the appropriate reporting process.
  • Ensures that all fire and safety precautions are strictly adhered to and material handling and delivery equipment are appropriately utilized
  • Performs all other duties as assigned (Driving will be 50% of the time, and Other duties as given will be 50% of the time).
