What You'll Do

As an Initiation Systems (IS) Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions that enable manufacturing and drive operational excellence. Duties include:

  • Design mechanical, electrical, and automation manufacturing equipment.

  • Ensure equipment design meets required targets.

  • Responsible for factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).

  • Direct external vendors to ensure compliance with technical project specifications.

  • Provide technical project direction to supportive crafts, contractors, engineers, technicians, and drafters.

  • Follow Management of Change (MOC) process.

  • Support Wholly-owned and Joint Venture (JV) manufacturing sites.

  • Recommend design concepts and improvements.

  • Resolve technical issues.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in mechatronics, automation, electrical or mechanical engineering.

  • Strong controls engineering skills considered an asset

  • 8+ years relevant industry experience (energetics manufacturing, mining, machine design, automation)

  • Mechanical, automation and controls engineering in hazardous or regulated industrial environments.

  • PLC and HMI / OIT system design, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

  • Vision system design & troubleshooting. Pneumatic system design and troubleshooting.

  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.

  • Change management and documentation control (Management of Change - MOC)

  • Ability to travel within the United States and internationally. (Estimated 25% travel)
