Location: Baltimore, MD (Onsite)

Shift: Full Time (40 hours), Day Shift, 8:00am - 4:30pm



Position Summary:

Responsible for implementing and coordinating departmental administrative projects and tasks. Provides support and assistance to Facilities Procurement Office, including Contract Administrators, Sr. Contract Administrators, Contract Manager, Assistant Director, Director, and the Sr. Director of Capital Budgeting with all departmental initiatives. This position is a key role in facilitating information exchange between Facilities and other JHM and JHU SOM departments, Contractors, Vendors, and outside agencies and organizations.



Education:



  • Associate's degree and three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience beyond the work experience requirement may be substituted for the degree on a two (2) years of experience in Contract Administration, Construction Administration, Project Management or a related field for one (1) year of education basis.i.e. 8 years.



Work Experience:



  • Three (3) years of related experience in a business field or preferably in the fields of design/construction, planning, engineering, management and/or healthcare administration.



Knowledge:



  • Basic knowledge of procurement theories, principles and processes typically acquired in Contract Administration, Construction Administration, Project Management or related field.
  • Basic/Limited knowledge of contract terms and conditions and their integration into the procurement process and related documentation. This knowledge should include a basic understanding of contract vehicles and their usage (e.g. Time and materials, lump sum, CM-atrisk, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of construction industry bidding practices and procurement processes.
  • Functional understanding of terminology relating to design, construction, engineering and maintenance fields.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications such as Windows, Outlook, word processing (e.g. Word), Excel, etc. Basic knowledge of SAP and PMWeb is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

  • Applies and integrates knowledge indicated herein.
  • High level of ability to solve problems and very detail oriented. Ability to manage several ongoing tasks at once.
  • Ability to use equipment indicated herein.
  • Ability to manage information indicated herein and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to plan, research, analyze, coordinate, implement and present projects of varying nature, extent and audience.
  • Ability to interact professionally with JHM/departmental staff, JHU personnel, Contractors and Vendors.


Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
