Emergency Department Registration Specialist On-Site\| Full-time \| 7pm - 7am (Rotating) Are you energized by a fast-moving environment where every moment truly matters? Join our Emergency Department team as a Registration Specialist, where you'll support patients during some of their most critical moments while ensuring accurate documentation and compassionate service. This role is high-paced and highly meaningful, perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic setting while also appreciating moments of focused administrative work. What You'll Do As an Emergency Department Registration Specialist, you will be cross-trained across three key areas: 1. Front Desk * Greet and check in patients entering through the ER entrance * Collect and verify IDs and insurance cards * Step out from behind the desk when needed to assist patients * Collaborate with security teams to maintain a safe and compliant environment * Welcome and document family members/support persons in the system 2. Ambulance Bay * Check in patients arriving by ambulance * Monitor radio updates for incoming emergency cases (stroke, trauma, GSW, etc.) * Prepare for rapid intake of high-acuity patients 3. Emergency Department Floor * Monitor overhead paging for incoming registrations * Act quickly to identify patients, which may include: * Retrieving personal items such as wallets for identification * Communicating with EMTs for documentation * Ensure accurate and timely entry of patient information during critical events Key Computer & Documentation Responsibilities * Use the registration board to track: * New patient arrivals * Registration and insurance verification needs * Patient statuses * Discharges and other updates * Complete precise, detail-oriented data entry What We're Looking For Must-Have Qualifications: * 1+ years of customer service experience * Strong adaptability - comfortable rotating across multiple registration areas * High attention to detail, particularly with data entry * Excellent communication skills with patients, peers, and supervisors * Ability to think quickly, maintain professionalism, and stay calm under pressure * Empathy, compassion, and a commitment to serving others Why You'll Love Working Here * Work in a role that directly impacts patient care and community health * Strong commitment to investing in employees * Paid training * Reimbursement for passed certification exams * Comprehensive benefits and competitive pay * Clear pathways for growth - both promotional opportunities and lateral movement across departments Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carmel, IN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
