Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Sr Student Programs Coordinator (Advocacy Care) for the Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance (
VPVA). Reporting to the Director of the Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance (
VPVA), the Senior Student Programs Coordinator provides advocacy, case management, and counseling services to campus community members impacted by violence.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Coordinates advocacy services and supports database workflow and outcome tracking.
- Helps to manage VPVA transitional housing needs. VPVA's transitional housing program.
- Supports volunteer training & engagement.
- Delivers trauma-informed services, including safety planning and accompaniment to court, RUPD, hospitals, and Title IX processes.
- Maintains strong campus and community partnerships, shares on-call crisis response responsibilities.
- Contributes to training, programming and grant activities as needed.
- Carries a small clinical counseling caseload.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's degree.
- Active NJ counseling or social work license.

| Certifications/Licenses |
- Crisis Response Advocate certification (NJ) either completed upon hire or within 6 months of date of hire.
- A valid driver's license would be required for this position.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Degree in student affairs, social sciences (e.g., psychology, social work, criminology, gender studies) or related field.
- Experience in working with organizations to deliver services to survivors of sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking.
- Knowledge of relevant federal policies, including Title IX and Clery Act.
- Solid understanding of diversity, social justice issues, and intersectionality.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion, sensitivity, and neutrality.
- Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Significant experience working with students on a large college or university campus.
- Experience in program development and evaluation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with diverse individuals and groups.
