The NB Chancellor's Business and Admin Services department reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Finance of the New Brunswick Campus. The department provides business operations support to multiple departments reporting to the New Brunswick Chancellor as well as direct business support to the Office of the New Brunswick Chancellor. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Accounting Assistant I for the NB Chancellor Business Office. Reporting to the Business Manager II Spvr of the New Brunswick Chancellor's Office, with a dotted line to the Business Manager
III Spvr of Honors College,
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides direct business, accounting, and administrative support to the New Brunswick Chancellor's Business Office.
- Provides back-up support to other units reporting to the New Brunswick Chancellor as needed, with a focus on Honors College.
- Performs professional work requiring knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology, and applied basis of accounting.
- Handles approval of requisitions in the University's procurement system, preparation of requisitions in the University's procurement system, monthly reconciliation of invoices and payments, and new supplier requests.
- Processes journal entries, reviews expense reports for compliance with the University's travel and business expense policy, and prepares access forms for University procurement, human resources, and financial systems.
- Handles Human Resources transactions which includes commitment accounting transactions, and payroll time sheet entry.
- Assists the Business Manager II Spvr, Business Manager III of Honors College, and the Grant Specialist with monthly cost center reporting compilation and quarterly forecasting.
- Works with a high level of discretion, patience, and professionalism in the performance of his/her job responsibilities.
- Provides very precise, conscientious attention to details and have the ability to multi-task.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of GAAP, bookkeeping, accounting, office administration, work organization, coordination.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience in an business, accounting, or administrative function.
