Job Description




As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help to reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control processes, respond to calls for service, and communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors while delivering customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, directing people away from restricted areas, and notifying site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of halls, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related hazards and/or policy violations.
  • Control access at designated doors and checkpoints by monitoring alarms, observing for unauthorized entry, and verifying credentials and/or visitor authorization according to site procedures.
  • Document incidents, patrol activity, and observations in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate pertinent information during shift handoff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
