The University of Virginia (UVA)Office of Sponsored Programs(OSP)seeksa Post-Award Accountant to join their team, reporting to the AssistantDirector of OSP Post-Award.This position is eligible for remote and/or hybrid work. The Post-Award Accountant monitors, reconciles, and analyzesexpenditureson sponsored awards to ensure compliance with award terms and conditions,prepares invoices and financial reports for sponsors,andassistsin providing supporting documentation for financial audits. TheAccountantis responsible formanagement of sponsored awards fromaward acceptancethroughthe end of theassociatedresearch project.This positionidentifiespayments to sponsored projects,monitorsunapplied cash,resolvesoutstanding receivables, and providesaudit support. TheAccountantprepares invoices(including letter of creditdraws) andassistsin the cash application process,ensuring that final expenditure and cash reconciliations areefficiently executed to supporttimelysubmission ofinvoicesand/or reports to the sponsor, allowingawardsto beclosed in the financial system. Responsibilities
MinimumQualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree. Experience: At least three years of relevantexperienceisrequired. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Physical Demands:This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetingsand programs. Preferred Qualifications: Experience:PreviousexperiencewithGrants and Contractsinhigher education and/orresearch administration.
