YOUR OPPORTUNITY



Performs preventative maintenance and repairs for all equipment utilized in the traffic department. This includes but is not limited to shag trucks, tractors and trailers used for transport of products. This position works in tandem with department management to ensure that PM schedules are kept in order to maintain our warranty and reliability of tractors and trailers. Performs a lot check every morning at our Guymon facilities and coordinate with management what PM services are due on the equipment present that day. This position is considered safety sensitive.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Inspects equipment and advises and performs any repairs that need to be addressed beyond routine
  • Documents damaged equipment and generates a plan for repair minimizing cost and down time.
  • Documents and tracks repairs including but not limited to date of repair, cost, reason, and equipment down time.
  • Adheres to and follows all federal, state, local and Company policies and procedures relating to workplace safety and food safety.
  • Drives equipment from the plant to the tire shop, body shop, and other various locations require.
  • Reads, analyze and interpret documents, such as technical procedures or governmental
  • Use a laptop and associated engine software to identify fault codes and diagnose necessary
  • Responsible for procuring parts for required repairs.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS



  • Three years minimum experience working as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic.
  • Basic knowledge of refrigeration repair is preferred
  • Must be able to perform vehicle & trailer repairs including but not limited to engine work, brake work, mount and balance tires, replace wheel seals, diagnose electrical problems, and identify safety concerns relative to class 8
  • Must have a current valid driver's license, CDL is a plus, must meet the requirements of a Class 8 driver
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a diverse workplace
  • Must provide own tools. Specialty tools may be provided by company on an as needed basis at the discretion of management.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations. The employee is frequently exposed to waste material, feed and hog dust.
