National Grid is hiring a Supervisor for our Construction division in Waltham, MA. This role is approximately 60% in the field/outdoors and 40% in the office. The Role The Supervisor is responsible for the safety, reliability, security and integrity of the gas distribution system through the daily supervision and organization of operations personnel. What You'll Do Supervise a culturally diverse internal and contracted workforce through coaching and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in an efficient manner Oversee the operational workload of team to ensure allocated resources are fully utilized to deliver against agreed upon work plan and execute work activities within planned unit and budget cost Ensure supervised teams comply with safety standards, policies and processes to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff Manage performance metrics for group and individual performance Demonstrate strong leadership, influencing, customer orientation and communication skills to promote teamwork and collaborative relationships with site staff, project teams and contractors Provide emergency response and supervision of personnel engaged in a 24/7 operation About You Bachelor's degree preferred High school diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of gas utility experience required Supervisory experience, preferably in utilities, construction or plumbing strongly preferred Valid driver's license required More Information #LI-AP1 #LI-Hybrid Salary $110,000 - $129,000 a year Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA).
