Job Description:

Microchip Technology's beautiful Oregon campus is seeking a qualified, motivated, and creative Engineering Technician to helpthe Process Engineering Departmentat Microchip's Fab-4 manufacturing facility in Gresham, OR.

Duties (include but not limited to):

  • Sustain and continuously improve semiconductor processes to maximize process capability and achieve production goals

  • Drive projects and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time, costs and defects, and increase product yield

  • Implement measures to prevent process excursions

  • Qualify new process equipment to run in a high-volume manufacturing mode

  • Support new technology transfer and qualification

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position

  • BS degree in Engineering, Physics or Chemistry

  • 5-6 years of process engineering experience in the semiconductor industry

  • Proficiency in written/oral communication and data analysis

  • Proficiency in the application of statistical process control (SPC)

Preferred Requirements:

  • MS degree in Engineering, Physics or Chemistry

  • Experience with one or more of the following semiconductor processes: vertical and horizontal diffusion furnace, vertical low-pressure chemical vapor deposition furnaces, wet clean/wet etch and ion implant

  • Experience with a Fault Detection & Classification (FDC) system

  • Proficiency with JMP

Additional Requirements:

  • May need to attend work related meetings or perform tasks on unscheduled days

Critical Physical Requirements:
Able to lift 25 lbs, push/pull 60 lbs, carry 15 lbs; sit 50%; stand 30%; walk 20%; must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, seeing. Work environment could include slippery surfaces, noise or vibrations, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes or odors, dust, or gases.

This is classified as a safety sensitive position.

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is 70,304 - 205,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
