We are seeking a dynamic Engagement Specialist to help shape our workplace culture, strengthen employee engagement, and ensure Balfour Beatty continues to be a great place to work. In this highly visible role, you'll design and deliver programs that elevate the employee's experience from onboarding through recognition and beyond. What you'll Lead and Deliver:

New Hire Engagement

Help our newest team members feel welcomed, supported, and excited to join us!
You will:



  • Lead virtual orientation sessions and engagement presentations.
  • Support on-site on-boarding efforts during corporate acquisitions.
  • Manage new-hire welcome packages and coordinate with hiring managers.
  • Create training materials, presentations, and resources that bring our culture to life.
  • Track, analyze, and present data from newhire and engagement surveys.
  • Serve as a helpful, proactive resource for candidates in the preemployment stage.


Employee Recognition & Appreciation

Celebrate our people and shine a spotlight on what makes Balfour Beatty great.
You will:



  • Manage our enterprise-wide Recognition Program-including platform administration, campaigns, vendors, and communications.
  • Coordinate service anniversaries, milestone celebrations, and appreciation events.
  • Lead employee focus groups to understand sentiment and uncover opportunities.
  • Partner with leaders to support culture-building and help create positive work environments.


Collaboration & Team Building

Partner across the business to strengthen engagement and drive a great workplace experience.
You will:



  • Analyze survey data, turnover trends, and other insights to recommend best practices.
  • Work closely with HR Business Partners on engagement and retention strategies.
  • Support Employee Relations by conducting interviews and gathering feedback.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, and Learning teams to build engagement campaigns and programs.


Employee Surveys & Continuous Feedback

Turn employee feedback into meaningful action.
You will:



  • Analyze new-hire surveys and support Human Resources Business Partners.
  • Conduct followups with employees to address concerns and support engagement.
  • Compile, interpret, and present insights from all engagement surveys.


Other duties as assigned

You'll jump in where needed to support our people, culture, and HR endeavors.

Who we're looking for



  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resources, Employee Engagement, Onboarding, or related areas.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, ATS, and HRIS systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Typical Physical Demands: Regularly uses hands to manipulate phones, computer keyboard and similar tools. Ability to view computer screens, mobile devices, and other electronic equipment, for extended periods of time. Sit and stand to perform administrative work. Regularly lift and move office supplies up to 20 lbs. Work is performed in an office environment. Employees must travel throughout the company footprint as required.

Pay Rate: $ 65,000 - $75,000

*This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, or any other form of compensation that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company's sole discretion, consistent with the law.
