PRODUCT REPAIR TECHNICIAN - AVIONICS

POSITION SUMMARY

The Avionic Technician must demonstrate high electronic/mechanical oriented aptitude, application of well-developed skills on overhauls/repairs of customer equipment, broad knowledge on troubleshooting and problem solving of complex electronic products. He/she is actively part of our Lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduction of costs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performs complex tests, overhaul/repairs on customer assemblies utilizing electro-mechanical skills.

• Knowledge on mechanical and electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and measurement tooling in a repair environment.

• Performs diagnostics, teardown, repair and rebuilding of products, according to approved data and customer's requirements.

• Proficiency on reading schematics, implementation of engineering orders, test specifications, service bulletins, customer requirements, and quality directives.

• Actively identifies Lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement while performing daily chores.

• Observes all safety rules and maintains (FOD) free work areas.

• Ensures all equipment is calibrated in accordance with calibration schedules while performing daily tasks.

• Constant self-training is required.

• May perform other related responsibilities according to business needs.

Qualifications

• Technical/ vocational school degree is preferred.

• 2-5 years direct industry related experience in both assembly and testing in a high technology manufacturing environment.

• Able to work independently with no supervisory guidance.

• Demonstrate a broad and comprehensive understanding of various complex electronic and mechanical systems.

• Possess extensive historical knowledge of product and process situations that are normally encountered. Able to independently overhaul/repair, test, and assemble 90% of the assigned product line.

• Able to set up test fixtures independently.

• Able to adapt to procedures, techniques, and/or processes to meet special needs on varied assignments.

• Able to read and understand schematics, route sheets, and test specifications. Perform semi-complex mathematical calculations, as well as demonstrate effective verbal, written, and moderate computer skills.

• Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
