Safety Engineering Intern

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:



  • This position will work with the engineering and the environmental, health, and safety (EHS) departments to develop systems and processes for our new Global Research and Development facility located in Brecksville, OH.
  • This is an opportunity to consolidate processes specific to this site.
  • Several projects will be completed during this internship, such as developing preventative maintenance plans for equipment, working on lock out tag out procedures, listing confined spaces, among others.
  • These projects will lay a strong foundation for a career in engineering and/or safety management.
  • We are looking for a motivated individual who is willing to learn and contribute to our team.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:



  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university at the time of the internship or a recent graduate.
  • Major in STEM, safety management, or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and/or Power Point


Preferred:



  • Experience working in a manufacturing or laboratory facility


TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:



  • Organized approach to work.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and management.


This role will report to Sherwin-Williams Brecksville Morikis Global Technology Center 601 Canal RD. Cleveland OH 44113.
