Gradient, a Geosyntec Company, is seeking a motivated and resourceful Early-Career GIS Analyst with experience in environmental data to apply relevant skills in GIS and relational database design and management, spatial analysis, programming, and/or data visualization to a diverse range of environmental project settings. You will have the opportunity to join our growing practice in one of our downtown Boston, MA, or Seattle, WA office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Review, standardize, and compile data.
  • Build and maintain environmental databases.
  • Prepare data summaries and maps.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, natural sciences, or related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in engineering, natural sciences, or related field. (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience using ArcMap and/or ArcGIS Pro, or ArcGIS Online in academic and applied project settings or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental engineering. (preferred)
  • Experience with environmental media testing data or environmental management experience (EQuIS, etc). (preferred)
  • Exceptional written and oral communication. (required)
  • Experience with 3D subsurface modeling software (e.g. Leapfrog, Earth Volumetric Studio [EVS]). (preferred)
  • Programming and/or coding experience (e.g., Python with Numpy, Scipy; Django, Pandas, or GeoPandas; Matplotlib; R; JavaScript; Power BI). (preferred)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $59,375/year / Maximum Salary: $74,220/year (Seattle, WA)
  • Minimum Salary: $62,070/year / Maximum Salary: $77,590/year (Boston, MA)

We offer a comprehensive benefits package to all eligible employees including, 9 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, a minimum of 8 sick days, and a minimum of 11 vacation days per year, in line with state or federal requirements.
