*ACH Operations Specialist (BackOffice Banking Role)* *Why This Role?* If you have handson experience with ACH transactions, electronic payments, and fraud review, this is an opportunity to step into a focused, highimpact operations role supporting critical payment activity for financial institution members. This position is ideal for professionals who enjoy data accuracy, transaction analysis, and risk mitigation-without customerfacing responsibilities.
*Role Overview* The ACH Operations Specialist plays a key role in reviewing, validating, and processing Automated Clearing House (ACH) payment requests. This is a noncustomerfacing, backoffice position centered on accuracy, compliance, and fraud prevention. You will manage ACH requests received through secure file transmissions and online banking platforms, ensuring each transaction meets internal controls and regulatory standards before being released for processing. *What You'll Be Doing* * Review and process ACH payment requests in batch queues * Analyze ACH files and transaction data received via: * Secure email (STFP files) * Online banking systems * Validate transaction details to ensure: * Accuracy of account and payment data * Compliance with internal policies and federal regulations * Identify potential fraud indicators or red flags, including: * Unusual transaction activity * Inconsistent or incorrect data * Take appropriate action when risk is identified, including: * Recommending account holds * Initiating ACH return or recovery documentation (highrisk, precisiondriven process) * Communicate professionally and clearly via email with: * Branch teams * Internal approvers * Executivelevel stakeholders * Maintain thorough documentation to support audits, investigations, and compliance reviews *Required Experience & Qualifications* * 1-3 years of banking experience, with direct exposure to ACH processing or ACH files * Proven ability to: * Read and interpret ACH file data * Identify potential fraud or account irregularities * Working knowledge of: * Online banking platforms * Electronic payments and wire transfers * Strong written communication skills with the ability to: * Clearly document findings * Communicate professionally with internal partners and leadership * High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy * Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) *Preferred (Nice to Have)* * Experience working with federal government-related banking or payment processes * Background in: * Credit unions * Retail or operations banking environments * Previous roles such as: * Personal Banker * Universal Banker * Electronic Banking or Payments Specialist *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, CO. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
