Job Description: Shipping Clerk Location: Houston, TX 77088 Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Pay: $20/hour Position Overview A Houston-based manufacturing and distribution company is seeking a highly organized, detailoriented Shipping Clerk to join the team. This role is responsible for supporting customers, processing quotes, entering orders, and ensuring accurate and timely shipment of materials. The ideal candidate thrives in a fastpaced environment, can navigate multiple systems at once, and delivers excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Key Responsibilities * Provide accurate product pricing and shipping information using pricing matrices and related tables. * Develop costeffective, timesensitive customer quotes via phone and email. * Enter customer orders and prepare all required orderrelated paperwork. * Estimate lead times and ensure timely shipment of materials to support customer satisfaction. * Maintain strong product knowledge to identify addon sales opportunities. * Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive experience. * Create estimates, discounts, and RFQs as needed. * Answer phone calls and emails professionally and efficiently. * Build and maintain strong customer relationships. * Recommend additional products and upsell when appropriate. * Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field OR 3+ years of directly transferable inside sales experience. * Experience supporting external customers within a manufacturing or industrial environment. * Strong phonebased customer service skills and ability to explain technical information. * Ability to multitask, selfdirect, problemsolve, and prioritize under pressure. * Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP/distribution software. * Ability to type 45+ WPM with a high level of accuracy. * Familiarity with LTL and package shipping processes is helpful. * Comfortable toggling between multiple screens, software systems, and tasks quickly. * Selfdirected and resourceful-actively seeks answers and solutions.
