Summary
The Carpenter is responsible for a variety of tasks to maintain productivity at the jobsite. Activities are coordinated with the Carpenter Foreman, Project Manager and/or the Superintendent.

Essential Functions
Performs a variety of tasks to maintain productivity at the jobsite. Tasks can include:



  • Constructing scaffold
  • Performing rough formwork
  • Constructing gang ladders
  • Constructing slab box outs, set sleeves
  • Layout and installation of wall blocking
  • Installation of roof blocking
  • Hanging and finishing drywall
  • Floor leveling
  • Caulking
  • Patching patch hollow metal doors and frames (bondo)
  • Installing fire safing (isolations) and smoke seal
  • Ability to flag- traffic control (* Needs certification)
  • Team player, moving materials, lifting 70lbs +/-, working weekends,
  • pumping water, hanging doors/ceilings, setting tile, digging holes with shovels, using hand tools etc.




Working Conditions
* The majority of work is completed on job sites in an office trailer or in an existing structure. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, when employees are outside of the office trailer or structure, they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies and as required for weather conditions.
* The project team and/or team member may need to move to other projected work geographic locations, if necessary.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge
* High school diploma preferred and on-the-job training required.
* Minimum 1 to 2 years experience.
* Forklift training preferred.
* Basic knowledge of reading blueprints is required.
* Training in OSHA10-hour preferred.
* CPR/First Aid Training preferred.
* Ability to demonstrate proficiency with little supervision and little direction.
* Ability to make sound business decisions as it related to field operations.
* Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
* Ability to clearly speak and understand the English language.
* Must be able to write with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar.
* Must be able to read safety rules, instructions in the use and maintenance of truck, tools and equipment, and methods and procedures.
