Position Summary: The 529 Training & Internship Program Manager - Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive training program for the 529 College Savings Group. This includes developing curriculum for new associates, expanding training for existing call center, field representatives, and operational staff, and continuously monitoring program effectiveness. This professional will also develop, launch, and oversee a new internship program (growing to 7-15 interns), ensuring interns gain exposure to client servicing, operations, fund accounting, field representative activities, and department project work. The 529 Training & Internship Program Manager - Officer plays a key role in building a skilled, knowledgeable talent pipeline that supports the department's long term workforce needs.

Essential Functions:



  • Build and maintain a structured training program for new associates across call center, operational, and field representative roles.
  • Develop training content, materials, and learning pathways to support ongoing development for existing associates.
  • Deliver training sessions tailored to role type, skill level, and learning needs.
  • Ensure all training materials remain current, accurate, and aligned with departmental requirements, including the integration of AI supported tools and processes.
  • Track participation, progress, and completion of all training activities.
  • Monitor training effectiveness using feedback, performance indicators, and quality results.
  • Identify gaps, emerging needs, and opportunities for improvement; update content, delivery methods, and program structure as needed.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting related to training outcomes, updates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner closely with leaders and associates across all 529 departments to promote engagement, collaboration, and shared ownership of learning, development, and talent growth initiatives.
  • Develop, design, implement, and manage an intern program of 7-15 individuals, providing exposure to all facets of the department, including customer servicing, operational processes, field representative activities, fund accounting, and project work.
  • Create structured learning experiences that introduce interns to key operational and functional areas.
  • Coordinate intern schedules, training plans, performance expectations, development reviews, and project assignments.
  • Provide ongoing oversight and guidance to ensure interns receive consistent support, coaching, and professional development.
  • Lead all aspects of intern interviewing, onboarding, coaching, performance review, and long-term program growth.
  • Ensure team members are trained and comply with bank policy, laws, and regulations applicable to their roles. Monitor their adherence to internal controls and take action to address employee performance issues.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in education, finance, management, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of training or learning & development experience in a call center, financial services, or regulated environment.
  • Experience designing and delivering structured training programs for call center, operational, and fieldbased roles.
  • Ability to develop curriculum across instructorled, virtual, and selfguided formats and measure training effectiveness.
  • Experience managing internship, earlycareer, or rotational programs; proficiency with Microsoft Office, and virtual training tools.

Working Environment:

Indoor work- not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards.

Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time.

Some sedentary work lifting and/or carrying up to 10 lbs occasionally.

This role is eligible for hybrid work from home opportunity under the work from home guidelines upon completion of onboarding.
