Reporting to the Director of Cloud Operations, this role sits at the center of execution-translating strategic direction into scalable systems, reliable delivery pipelines, and high-performing teams.

You'll own the day-to-day leadership of DevOps and cloud engineering functions, with a strong focus on AWS infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), observability, and release excellence. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance technical depth, operational rigor, and people development.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of DevOps engineers and engineering managers, building a high-performance, accountability-driven culture.

  • Drive execution of cloud infrastructure and platform initiatives aligned with the Director's strategic roadmap.

  • Own delivery and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines, enabling reliable, secure, and efficient software releases.

  • Champion Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) best practices, ensuring scalable, auditable, and secure environments.

  • Establish and track key operational metrics, including DORA metrics, system reliability, and deployment performance.

  • Partner with Architecture, Security, and Engineering leaders to implement operational excellence standards and governance.

  • Oversee AWS environments, including networking, identity/access management, observability, and cost optimization.

  • Lead incident response, postmortems, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance system resilience.

  • Contribute to capacity planning, forecasting, and workforce planning in partnership with the Director.

  • Drive cost efficiency initiatives across cloud infrastructure without compromising performance or reliability.

  • Ensure alignment with Agile practices and ITIL-based service delivery frameworks.

What You Bring

  • Strong leadership experience managing DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure teams, including managing managers.

  • Deep hands-on knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture.

  • Proven experience implementing and scaling Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, release management, and automation at scale.

  • Strong understanding of DORA metrics and modern DevOps performance frameworks.

  • Experience with observability tools (monitoring, logging, tracing) and incident management.

  • Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels-translating vision into execution.

  • Experience managing technical debt and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, security, and product.

  • Financial and operational acumen, including cloud cost management and resource planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 9+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering

  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing managers or senior engineers

Why This Role Matters
