This position reports to:

Customer Quality Engineer

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist the Quality team in implementing and maintaining a quality system, including conducting audits, establishing controls, training on tools and methodologies. Each day, you will support activities related to quality management within the organizational unit. You will also showcase your expertise by reporting quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and customer cases and maintaining process documentation.

The work model for the role is: Onsite in Mebane, NC

This role is contributing to the EL Smart Power division in Mebane, NC.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Understand and be accountable for manufacturing metrics that pertain to the group (HSE, Quality, Service and Costout)
  • Drive efforts to support and meet production schedules, including productivity, quality and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Take responsibility for continuous improvement of production operations including safety, scheduling, quality, lean and training/development in assigned areas
  • Develop and maintain Quality Management System documents such as manufacturing methods, technical documentation, and training documentation
  • Practice analytical problem solving incorporating use of strong math skills
  • Utilize strong communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Acquire knowledge of plant and business quality IT systems as needed
  • Demonstrate initiative to learn and seek improvement opportunities with minimal direction
  • Support and maintain quality records in regards to supplier cases, customer cases, internal nonconformance reports, and internal audits.
  • Perform evaluations on internal/external issues and compiling corresponding technical reports.
Qualifications for the role:
  • Associate Degree in a technical or engineering discipline OR 2 years experience with fabrication/welding inspections with a High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 Year in Quality
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency in measurement tools (meters, calipers, gauges, etc.)
  • Authorized to work in the US legally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
