Custodian - El Paso Processing Center & Co-Location - El Paso, Texas Custodian - Summary: Performs custodial maintenance duties including dusting, mopping, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, and cleaning and restocking restrooms. Duties and Responsibilities: Performs general, routine custodial duties to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies. Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies Empties trash receptacles, bags trash for proper disposal, and disposes of trash into dumpsters Unlocks doors and ensures doors are locked after cleaning areas Reports needs and concerns to appropriate staff Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices Assists in on-the-job training of new staff on routine procedures Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements Strip and wax floors Cleans windows and entry doors Continually checks common areas for cleanliness and collects debris/trash Performs trash/litter removal indoors and out Empties recycle receptacles and transports to facility collection points. Completes miscellaneous other duties as assigned. Floor Stripping Floor finish Power washing (concrete curbs, sidewalk, lanes, buildings, canopies) Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Position requirements: Must be able to obtain and retain US Government access to the facilities - this is done by a thorough background check High School graduate or equivalent desired A background check and drug screen will be conducted for this position.
