In this role, as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for developing, integrating, and developing project engineering deliverables. These documents include drawings, specifications, product selection, installation sequence planning, and commissioning testing/commissioning scripts.


Responsibilities

Product (Support) Engineer

Design and Engineering Standardization (40%)

  • Understand customer requirements and ensure design meets all requirements
  • Understand typical design issues and address them by writing or modifying standards.
  • Prevent design and drawing errors from going to manufacturing line by conducting design and drawing reviews and assigning action items
  • Lead 3P / Design for manufacturability reviews and follow up for closing action items
  • Conduct in failure analysis
  • Work with suppliers to develop designs or find out more innovative ways to solve existing problems.
  • Create standards and roll them out to rest of the org

Product support to Manufacturing (40%)

  • Communicate with manufacturing line regularly and ensure issues are being resolved in a timely manner and following established processes.
  • Writing deviations to keep line moving and closing the action items.
  • Establish and implement standard processes to improve manufacturing.
  • Participating in Prototype builds and resolve issues.

Coaching and development (20%)

  • Coach less experienced engineers and guide them to execute their tasks
  • Participation in 3P, Kaizen and other department activities.

Skills Required

  • Strong experience in Engineering and Manufacturing
  • Deep understanding of the product development process
  • Experience working with cross functional teams
  • CAD experience
  • Drive to excel and take leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (BS) such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent
  • Two (2)+ years of professional experience in manufacturing and design engineering
  • Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate with various customers, vendors, and peers
  • Ability to effectively work with SolidWorks and Revit

Abilities:

  • Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
  • Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Identify and understand the speech of another person.
