THE POSITION

Would you like to play a vital role in ensuring public safety? The Department of State, Bureau of Enforcement and Investigation, is eager to welcome a Regulatory Enforcement Inspection Supervisor to our Harrisburg team. In this leadership role, you will supervise and direct a staff of Regulatory Enforcement Inspectors, Drug Program Specialists, and Mortuary Inspectors who are involved in the conduct of inspections to ensure compliance with standards of conduct, laws, rules, and regulations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this supervisory role, you will distribute and monitor work assignments to ensure effective utilization of staff and to maintain accuracy and production. This includes adapting workflow to accommodate critical or priority assignments, special projects, and peak work periods. You can expect to provide supervisory guidance to staff in the development and execution of inspection plans and review case monitoring reports to assure timely and accurate data. You will have the opportunity to develop detailed plans and supervise the conduct of large-scale inspections and/or those requiring coordination with other law enforcement agencies. Additional duties include evaluating employees' itineraries, activity reports, travel vouchers, completed assignments, and other documents to ensure work is performed according to program objectives. This position interprets rules, regulations, policies, procedures, standards and objectives of the organization and is responsible for implementing approved policies and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Regulatory Enforcement Inspector, Mortuary Inspector, Drug Program Specialist 1, or Professional Conduct Investigator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Five years of experience conducting inspections for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts; or
  • Three years of experience conducting inspections for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts and an associate's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which included three years of experience involving inspection for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
