POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

This is a SME position and the incumbent supports/supervises VDC project-specific teams and tasks as needed throughout a project's life cycle. Works with the VDC manager to implement project expectations, requirements and milestones as defined by the project team. In Addition, identifies, monitors and resolves project issues to provide visibility of a project's performance.

Base salary range of $93K - $113K

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Creates VDC models of complex HVAC, Piping, Plumbing, or Electrical for project use.
  • Leads BIM coordination efforts, as primary and/or subcontractor role
  • Interprets blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, and other visual aids.
  • Extensive knowledge producing accurate shop, penetration, layout, and fabrication drawings that are utilized in HVAC, Piping and Plumbing-related projects.
  • Supports assigned projects specific specialists by reviewing deliverables on project including shop/fabrication drawings for consistent quality control.
  • Leverages their Industry/Software knowledge to support the work of the VDC team on any given project.
  • Acts as a point of contact for escalating or resolving project-related questions for all parties inside and outside of the company.
  • Communicates issues/needs associated with the database to the Database/VDC Manager.
  • Has the ability to resolve general IT/programming issues on an as needed basis.
  • Helps develop and enforce "best practice" installation methods, and shares them with internal peers.
  • Assists the VDC manager by providing input for project staffing requirements and implementing daily project related tasks of supervised staff per the direction of the VDC manager.
  • Prioritizes and encourages safety while executing work tasks, especially when at a construction site.

        WORK ENVIRONMENT:



        • This position operates primarily in an office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, plotters, and printers.
        • Work tasks may occasionally be performed at local job sites, which means intermittent exposure to outside weather and conditions typically associated with a construction site.


          PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



          • In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, perform repetitive motion, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity.
          • This is considered a sedentary position, which means possible exertion up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.


          TRAVEL:



          • This position regularly requires local travel to attend meetings and conduct site visits.
          • Out-of-town travel may occasionally be required.


          MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



          • 5-7 years of construction and/or engineering industry-specific experience.
          • Familiarity with applicable Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical building codes and safety laws.
          • Advanced-level knowledge of Autodesk products - Revit, Navisworks Manage, Fabrication MEP, etc.
          • Proficient with Google platforms and apps (Google Sheets and Google Docs in particular.) or Microsoft Office (Word and Excel in particular).
          • Open and motivated to learn scanning / point cloud software experience i.e. Scene, BLK 360, Real Works and AR/VR.
          • Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) with diverse audiences.
          • Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess strong problem-solving skills.
          • Capacity to effectively work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
          • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, as business needs dictate.


          PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



          • Trade school completion or Associate's Degree in a related field preferred.
          • Trade experience in HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical construction in commercial buildings.
