Job Description

FUNCTION:

The Quality Manager shall maintain control and authority for the following functions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Understand, adhere, and demonstrate to the company's commitment to QUALITY and SAFETY!
  • Managing activities related to the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Provides technical direction, mentoring, training, support, and performance feedback to staff
  • Acts as a primary escalation point for quality issues, including nonconformances, root cause analysis, and corrective action development
  • Managing 3rd party audits such as AS9100 and NADCAP (NDT, CP, SE, CT)
  • Leads and supports internal, customer, and third-party liaison and audit assistance and ensures timely correction action closures
  • Managing internal audit activities
  • Managing activities and personnel related to quality control / laboratory / process control / inspection / planning functions
  • Prime contractor specification initial / revision review and implementation of engineering requirements into all facets of the QMS
  • Development, maintenance and submittal (to customers for approval as required) of frozen planning
  • Managing control of nonconforming product and CAR / NCR initiation, disposition, rework documentation through completion and database maintenance
  • Developing QMS level 2 and 3 documents and document changes
  • Continuous improvement program implementation / data documentation / projects maintenance / support
  • Must have great communication skills with other management team and production employees
  • Continual daily shop floor presence providing expertise / coaching / encouragement to all personnel while promoting quality objectives
  • Development of various forms / charts / logs / etc.
  • Providing technical / process / quality / engineering expertise to employees, prime contractors and customers
  • Track quality metrics and provides regular status updates to quality and plant leadership
  • Ensures compliance with customer flow-down requirements during contract and purchase order reviews
  • Planning / certification as needed
  • Special projects as needed
  • Recommending and developing production process changes
  • Interfaces with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders regarding quality issues, investigations, and improvement plans
  • Promotes a positive culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and compliance throughout the organization

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Ability to effectively communicate quality requirements and status to quality dept., operators, management, and customers
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide staff
  • Professionalism and emotional intelligence to mentor and develop staff at all levels
  • Proficient in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with MS applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Preferred a Bachelor degree in Engineering or Technical Field

  • 5+ years related Quality experience.

  • Aerospace Industry experience

  • Chemical processing experience preferred

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job will require supervision responsibilities of the Quality Dept; QE's, Quality Specialists, Final Inspectors, NDT Inspectors, Certification Clerk.

MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employee in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.



Note: This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $116,000.00 to $135,000.00 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To comply with those regulations, this position may require applicants to be U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)), or eligible to obtain the required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce.
