GENERAL SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor focuses on day-to-day operations and short-term goals to maximize productivity, minimize waste and ensure quality. Demonstrates leadership in creating a safe work environment. Directs the work and goals of individual employees to continuously improve Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety. Improves operator productivity through training, monitoring and ensuring quality and safe work practices are followed. Must meet scheduling and targeted production goals. Responsible for enforcing daily quality reviews of products to ensure processes are meeting specifications.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Reviews production orders and implements production schedules to meet customer deliveries. Arranges and assigns work in area of responsibility. Supervises and assists employees with daily work performance. Regulates production and personnel problems and resolves them to minimize their effect on production. Creates a safe work environment.
  • Drive work instructions and ensure individual productivity goals are met.
  • Ensure equipment utilization is maximized and maintained in serviceable condition.
  • Drive employee cross-training process to improve flexibility.
  • Conduct work instruction audits to ensure compliance of product quality and engineering specifications.
  • Solve all problems methodically (Root Cause Process).
  • Report data in organized, technically sound manner & use it to prioritize your projects.
  • Drive root cause for safety, customer delivery & quality issues and implement corrective actions to reduce/eliminate them.
  • Communicate performance metrics.
  • Work as a collaborative team member on all issues and projects.
  • Provides consistent coaching, feedback and progressive discipline to employees to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensures compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement if applicable
  • Works closely with other shop management, Engineering, and Customer Service personnel to evaluate product requirements and identify suitable vendors, interfacing with suppliers as necessary to obtain product or service information, such as availability, pricing, delivery schedules, and technical details.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma/GED plus 2-year technical degree or experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
  • Machining and Weld/Fabrication supervisory experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Must be computer literate, including MS Office.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of an organization.
  • The characteristics and properties of various metals used in the cutting, forming and welding of objects.
  • Have knowledge of the properties of various welding rods and fluxes used in welding metals.
  • Need to know occupational hazards and safety precautions, practices and procedures of the welding trade.
  • Identifying and using proper hand and power tools in a safe manner.
  • Calculate mathematical problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division on a calculator to determine weights, measurements, time and quantities.
  • Set up and run programs in a lean manufacturing environment
  • Read and interpret technical engineering assembly and fabrication drawings.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Standards and practices.
  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational. time management and problem-solving skills
  • A positive "let's do it" attitude

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Majority of work time spent on their feet
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity required to use power and hand tools
  • Frequently noisy working environment
  • Occasional handling of material and components may have contact with caustic substances in some areas of the plant.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Use of PPE, including safety glasses hearing protection and steel toe boots required

WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron, and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
DeZURIK offers a competitive base salary in the $72,926 to $91,157 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus opportunities tied to performance.
