About This Role
The Kansas State University Department of Modern Languages seeks a dynamic individual for a full-time, non-tenure-track position as Instructor or Teaching Assistant Professor of Spanish in academic year 2026-2027. This is a one-year term position. The successful candidate will teach up to seven sections of elementary and intermediate courses in the basic Spanish language sequence over the course of the academic year. There may be opportunities to replace a limited number of those sections with more advanced courses for Spanish majors and minors. There may also be opportunities for online teaching, but most sections will be in person on the Manhattan, Kansas campus. We seek candidates with experience or promise in helping students grow their communicative and intercultural skills in Spanish. Service responsibilities may include contributing to a weekly Spanish conversation hour, planning co-curricular events, and contributing to departmental initiatives and committees. We offer courses and programs in Arabic, Chinese, Classical Studies, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Spanish Translation, and the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). There are undergraduate majors in French, German, and Spanish as well as an MA in Modern Languages and an MA and graduate certificate in TEFL. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.
