Job Title: Director of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development Department: Faculty Affairs College/Division: School Of Medicine Primary Job Posting Location: Macon, GA 31207 Additional Job Posting Locations: (Other locations that this position could be based) Job Details: Mercer University School of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified Director of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development on the Macon, GA campus. Responsibilities: The Director of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for faculty affairs functions across all the Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM) campuses. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, the Director manages MUSM office logistics and faculty processes including recruitment, onboarding, appointments, promotion and tenure, evaluation, governance, faculty development, and accreditation reporting. This role exercises independent judgment in the development and interpretation of faculty policies, oversees faculty data systems and performance metrics, and serves as a key liaison to academic leadership, Human Resources, Finance, and the Dean's Office. The Director designs, implements, and evaluates faculty development initiatives across undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education programs and supports institutional planning, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts in a complex academic medical environment. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Higher Education, Adult Education, Human Resources, Communications or related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in faculty affairs, academic administration, healthcare administration, or a related area, OR a master's degree and one year of aforementioned experience are required.
