Key Responsibilities and Expectations:

The Marine Product Sales Representative is responsible for selling and supporting marine products within an assigned territory, including managing dealer networks and OEM relationships while developing new business opportunities. The role includes creating pricing, preparing quotes, supporting inventory planning, and assisting dealers with technical needs, warranties, and system access. Additional responsibilities include coordinating boat show participation, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.

* Sales and support of marine products (pleasure craft and commercial) in the area of responsibility

* Develop and manage the dealer network, evaluate existing dealers, and prospect for new dealers

* Maintain relationships with existing OEM customers

* Prospect new OEM customers

* Create and maintain annual dealer and OEM pricing

* Provide quotes for dealers and OEM's and prepare quotes for units that are not pre-configured

* Inventory management, including forecasting, evaluating inventory levels, and preparing stock orders

* Organize dealer attendance at boat shows and attend major boat shows

* Provide customer service and technical support for dealer network, OEM customers, and end-users

* Assist dealers daily with access, or password resets for Kohler dealer portal, TAW portal, labor rate increases, warranty claims, and software updates (Site Tech, Service Advisor, etc.)

* Maintain up-to-date dealer lists

* Assist with stock order requirements and inventory levels

* Adhere to company policies

* Observe all safety procedures and policies and use proper protective equipment (especially eye, ear protection and steel toe shoes/boots, gloves, etc)

* Keep work area clean and organized

* Report all injuries, near misses and accidents immediately to a supervisor

* All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Competencies:

* College degree or 5 years in sales and/or servicing marine generator systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Possess good problem-solving skills while being able to effectively resolve customer issues
  • Results-oriented, self-starter and excellent organizational skills
  • Must have excellent communication capabilities
  • Must have valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Participates in meetings
  • Physical Demands: Employee is required to: Sit frequently; stand, walk, kneel, squat, and stoop occasionally; use hands to finger to feel, handle, and grip tools and controls regularly; reach with hands and arms regularly; talk and hear. Employee must lift and move up to 5 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment: Employee typically works in a climate controlled indoor office environment with adequate lighting and provided with an ergonomically friendly workstation configuration. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The noise level in the work environment is low with occasional moderate noise levels.
