Supervisor, Business Intelligence, Value Driven Outcome Analytics, University of Missouri Health Care, Columbia, Missouri
Provide support to, and administrative oversight of, an analytics team responsible for developing, preparing, interpreting, and monitoring moderate-to-complex health care analyses, data projections, data models, and reports used by the University's management to make informed decisions on trends and performance of service lines and to evaluate new opportunities. Work in collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts to deploy actionable insights that produce value-driven outcomes for patients. Duties include the following:
* Lead and provide direct supervision of a business intelligence team
* Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses and ETL processes addressing impactful business issues
* Provide oversight of CMS quality reporting programs, including monitoring metrics, submission compliance, and insight development
* Engage with and support clinical teams in the Vizient Clinical Database program, including performance benchmarking and collaborative opportunities
* Oversee abstraction and registry management processes for clinical quality programs and ensure data integrity and timeliness
* Guide the development and monitoring of quality outcomes across service lines, recommending appropriate interventions
* Translate performance metrics into actionable narratives and visualizations to support leadership understanding and decision-making
* Standardize and clean data, build prediction models, model outcomes, and develop metrics for complex data analysis projects that can be multi-disciplinary or interdepartmental
* Develop service line clinical, quality and operational reports, scorecards and databases utilized by leadership
* Lead analytic-driven improvement projects and prioritize analytics requests
* Forecast impact of system changes to establish targets and mitigate business risk
* Participate in analytic leadership and strategy discussions including technology strategy development, implementation and approval of analytics best practices
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Telecommuting is available with the requirement of working in the office 2-3 days per month.
Required Qualifications: Master's degree or equivalent level degree in Health Administration, Health Informatics or closely related field plus 12 months experience in any job title that provides experience in the occupation of business intelligence analyst in the health care industry. Other requirements: Expertise in healthcare data analytics, including clinical outcomes, patient safety, and revenue cycle analytics, expertise in working with Vizient Clinical Database and CMS quality programs, background in using Cerner EMR and Athena/IDX patient accounting systems, expertise with relational data models, including star schemas leveraged in Microsoft Power BI data models, proficiency in multiple development and Database Management Systems such as Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server Integration Services, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks, expertise in data modeling and ETL techniques across multiple sources including Cerner, IDX, and PeopleSoft, expertise in advanced statistical analysis methods and machine learning tools such as Python, including the ability to process and integrate multiple data formats (e.g., JSON, XML).
